FeedFlash is a widget I came across (viewing Listio) that would be great to put on your online pages such as Myspace.

With it's simple no sign up creation form shown below, this is definitely a quick and easy to use service. Plus it's open source!!

Well, my Myspace profile got deleted back in February and I finally got around to adding web widgets. However, Myspace has been known to continually ban widgets they find potentially offensive.

I have no idea how Last.fm, a social music site, could be offensive, but low and behold it was blocked up as much as Tom Anderson's anus.

Therefore I create the workaround.

Note: I know this is noticeably a tad slow, but that issue is Last.fm's image generator server creating the image.

In the modern age of software and web technology you will 9 out of 10 times find a free replacement for current software that you pay for.

Real Example:

I have been working for Company X for awhile. Company X has amazing customer support, graphic artists, and developers, but this is an article to open eyes concerning the potential and/or threat of upcoming web services, free software, and open source.

As a part of Company X, we get phone calls for interest in our tools everyday. Which two of the most used tools are possibly in "trouble"?

Those two tools are unnamed and quickly described as:

• Host a conference call while the applicant joins through a website to verify the information.

• Send the same template email to different receivers easily.

I've discovered multiple replacements for each of these tools. Two stood out more than others though.

• Crossloop is a simple screen sharing utility that uses a web browser to connect users. Same concept.


• Breeze has the ability to create email templates for marketing campaigns. However, there is a charge when a campaign is larger than 5 emails, but still defeats Company X's initial pricing.


How long before this all happens? It's beginning now. Time along with common knowledge and business decisions are all it's waiting for.

I recently discovered that I can begin podcasting from my cell phone at any moment. Gabcast lets me record a podcast with my cell phone, then delivers the voice message to the web, and finally reaches the viewers, which mine as of now are zero.
